30/11/2011 :Jo Lovelock responds to the Chancellor's autumn statement:

In a response to the Chancellor’s autumn statement yesterday, Labour Leader of Reading Borough Council Jo Lovelock said:

“The truth is out. George Osborne inherited from Labour an economy which was growing, where unemployment was shrinking and the deficit coming down in a managed way, and has with the help of the LibDems turned it into an economy at best flatlining with unemployment rising and the deficit growing out of sight! And instead of changing tack he is promising to plough on until 2017 and beyond – with, as always under this government, families with children, who are having their Tax Credits docked, among the main victims. Labour said he was going too far too fast and how right we were.”
