22/11/09 : Pincents Hill: Naz claims Round 1! :

Naz Sarkar has claimed as a victory West Berkshire's belated decision not to determine Blue Living's application on 16 December, but to leave it till after they've set their Local Development Framework on 21 January.

"I've been arguing for months that West Berkshire should agree a dispersal option - which is what local Parish Councils and the overwhelming majority of local people have supported - before considering Blue Living's application, because that would help if the Blue Living application was turned down and they went to appeal," he says. "West Berkshire's decision to put back the Blue Living application till February or March is therefore very welcome news, but it's only Round 1.

Denefield teacher Naz Sarkar has volunteered for a leading autistic charity for seven years and will be doing work with the charity over the Christmas holiday period.

"Round 2 will be on 21 January in Newbury when West Berkshire Council actually decide their Local Development Framework for the next 10 years. That's when the local Tory Councillors, who supported West Berkshire 'consulting' on several options which included Pincents Hill, will really have to stand up and be counted. Because if the Council on 21 January votes for an LDF which includes Pincents Hill that would I fear be game over."
