29/06/08 : Reading Labour Party re-elects Trish Thomas
Reading & District Labour Party held its AGM at RISC on Thursday 26 June, and Trish Thomas, from Katesgrove, was re-elected unopposed to chair the Party for the coming year.

Ann Morgan from Park stood down as Secretary, receiving a standing ovation as a tribute to her work, but was elected as Women’s Officer. The new Secretary is Robert Owen from Caversham, who was Labour agent in the 2008 elections.

Deborah Edwards, re-elected to the Council for Southcote on 1 May, stood down as Treasurer, and the new Treasurer will be Glenn Dennis from Calcot. Andrew Dunn from Park was re-elected as Vice Chair East, but Pete Ruhemann stood down as Vice Chair West and will be succeeded by Ben Zielinski (Minster). Pete Ruhemann will continue as media officer, and the new Youth Officer is Sarah King (Park).

Trish Thomas said the party was in good spirits after the elections, and pleased that Labour had been able to form an administration on Reading Council. She looked forward to continued campaigning in the year ahead!
